Q: Is there parking near you in Brecon?
Yes, the closest parking is the Co-op car park, and I’m a two minute walk from there.
Q: Will you travel to me? Is there a travel charge?
Yes, I offer mobile massage services. This means I can travel to your home or holiday let for your treatments. Depending on your distance from Brecon, there may be a small additional fee to cover my petrol and time. You can clarify this upon booking. Alternatively, I may offer to scrap the travel cost if you book multiple treatments which reach a minimum spend (e.g. group booking).
Q: You’re coming to my home for a mobile massage. Do I need to prepare anything?
Just a private space for me to set up the massage bed. It is roughly the size of a single bed, and if you are having a full body massage, I will need to be able to comfortably manouver around it. I may also need access to plug sockets if we want to add the electric blanket. The massage couch is quite heavy, so I will ask you about access to parking nearby, or whether I can pull up outside to drop this off before parking.
Q: What do I need to wear for my massage?
Whatever you’re comfortable in. For a full body massage, I suggest you remove all clothing (including bras) except your underwear. Alternatively you can keep your bra on if you are comfortable with me unlatching this at the start of our session. For a upper body massage, you may wish to keep your trousers on, however I’ll ask you to unbutton the top button in case I need to pull these down to access your lower back/top of glutes. You will be left in privacy to get undressed and get comfy under the blankets before I return.
Q: I am a wheelchair user. Is your home wheelchair accessble?
My home is not wheelchair accessible, however Larchwood Studio in Hay-on-Wye is, and I have regular dates there where you can book a slot. You also have the option of booking me to come to your home for a mobile massage. We will agree together whether you’d be happy to have your massage on my massage couch (which has adjustable heights) or in your wheelchair. I will have comfy bolsters so we can make sure we get you nice and comfy, wherever you choose.
Q: I’m on my period, can I still have a massage?
Absolutely! Massage can be great with easing menstrual cramps and lifting your mood. If there are any areas that feel particularly tender, we can discuss this in the consultation and there’s always the option of avoiding these areas for this session. You also don’t have to disclose you’re on your period.
Q: Why do you need a consultation during the first appointment?
To ensure you’re getting what you need out of your massage, and to understand any health conditions, medications, injuries or ongoing concerns that we need to address to ensure the treatment is safe and beneficial for you and your body.
Q: What pressure is the massage?
My default is ‘firm and flowy’, however I will always ask you before the massage what your preferred pressure is, and will check-in during the massage to ensure the pressure feels just right for you.
Q: Do you need a deposit to confirm my booking?
Yes. It is a tricky balance to ensure I am running a profitable business, and still offering clients the flexibility they need. Lots of work and effort goes into the massage before you even arrive. As a small business, asking for a 50% deposit ensures that my time and energy is protected even if clients do not turn up. Of course, life happens and that’s fine – if it’s a massage booked at my base in Brecon, if you need to reschedule and let me know more than 48 hours in advance of your booking time, that’s completely fine and your deposit will carry over to your next booking.
For massage in rented studio spaces, I may require either a 50% deposit or full payment in advance to ensure I am able to cover my costs. This will always be refundable if you cancel or reschedule more than 48 hours in advance.
For group mobile booking, 50% deposit is needed to confirm the booking, with the final 50% due the week before the treatment date. This is non-refundable.
Q: I feel self conscious about my body and nervous about a massage.
That is completely normal. Massage can be a great way to re-connect with and show gratitude to your body. You will be very welcome to share with me if you are nervous, and we can agree together how we can make you comfortable during your treatment. I also can offer massage packages which do not involve removing clothes, for example a head, face and foot massage, if you would like to ease into it this way. Please reach out and chat if you feel this way.
Q: Will you attend group bookings or holidays, hen dos, etc?
Absolutely! Massage can be a wonderful addition to a group booking. There will be a minimum spend and the full balance will be due to confirm the booking, and I will also need space within the accomodation to set up. I will also ask for information about parking.
Q: Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Find out more here: Gift Cards.
Q: Your massage is focused on women’s health, but do you massage men?
Yes I do! If you’re a man looking to book in, please drop me an email or message before booking so I can arrange a phone consultation in advance.
FAQs for group bookings
including retreats and hen dos
Q: What is your price list for groups?
If you are a group of 7 or less, you can book the treatments listed on my treatments page. If you are a group of 8 or more, you can see my price list of mini-treatments here. Groups of 7 or less can choose from the mini treatments, but must still meet the minimum spend (below!)
Q: Do you have a minimum spend?
Yes – I have a minimum of £250 for group bookings. Depending on where you are based, there may also be a small travel cost which I will let you know in the initial quote. If you have a group of 8 or more, this would be covered for example be 5 x 45 minute massages at £50 each. Or, if you have a group of 7 or less, this would be covered by 3 full body 90 minute massages, for example.
Q: How do I book you for my retreat/group booking/hen do?
Drop me an email letting me know the dates, approx. how many of you there are, where it is (including parking info) and what the massage setup space would be. Please note – booking in advance is advised!
Once you’ve checked the date is free, you’ll then need to gather the list of treatments your group members would like to book in for, and gather their 50% deposits for these. Then, email me with the list of treatments and timings, and send your 50% deposit (in a single transation) to confirm your booking. The remaining 50% is due at least one week in advance of the booking. Neither are refundable, but swaps are available if a member of your group is unwell, hungover(!) or otherwise cannot make their treatment (see below).
Q: How do we pay?
For group bookings I require a single transation at time of booking of 50% of the total cost (non-refundable deposit) for all treatments to hold the dates. Until the deposit is received, I am not able to reserve your dates. The remaining 50% is due at least one week in advance of the booking date, via a single transation. For group bookings I am unable to offer refunds of either the deposit or remaining balance once paid.
Q: A member of my group is ill or can no longer make their appointment, what happens now?
I’m happy for you to swap in another friend or attendee who would like to take their appointment or add additional time to their exisitng appointment. I’m not able to offer refunds on treatments in group bookings.
Q: Can my kids get a mini-treatment?
Light massage can be super relaxing and fun for children, but please notify me of their age when booking their treatments. Please note, a parent or guardian must be present throughout the treatment of anyone aged 15 or under.
Q: How much time do I need to put aside for my group booking?
My mini-treatments for groups of 8+ vary in length, from 30-45 minutes. Setup and pack down each take around 20 minutes, and I need 5 minutes minimum to change over between clients.
For example, if you had 3 friends who wanted a 45 minute treatment and 3 friends who wanted a half an hour treatment, that would be a total of 3hrs 45 of hands-on treatments, plus 25mins change over time between clients = 4 hours 10 mins approx. with 20 mins setup and 20 mins pack down. The same logic applies to longer treatmnets for groups of 7 or under.
Q: Do you offer massage for mixed-gender groups?
Yes absolutely! My massage day-to-day is focused on women’s health, but massage is beneficial for everyone and I’m happy to offer massage to male clients.
Q: Do you require parking?
Yes – if your home/accomodation doesn’t have parking available closeby, I’ll need somewhere to pull up and drop off my massage table and equipment. Please indicate this when booking.
